SITE Residency | Applications Open

SITE Residency is a two-month creative residency hosted at The J, Noosa, designed for artists who want to deepen, challenge and expand their practice.

Open to artists working across all art forms, SITE provides something increasingly rare: dedicated time and space to focus on process before outcome. Whether you're pursuing a question that won't let go, testing a new material, developing an ambitious body of work, or stepping into unfamiliar territory, SITE is a place where your practice leads the way.

Rather than asking what will you make?, we're interested in what might become possible if you had the time to explore?

Throughout the residency, you'll have access to a private studio at The J, opportunities for mentorship and critical dialogue, and the chance to connect with Noosa's creative community through a public program and residency showing. We encourage artists to embrace experimentation, creative risk, and the unexpected unfolding of ideas.

The residency takes its name from the idea of a site: a place to return to, to build from, to listen to, and to be changed by. We see SITE as a responsive container for artistic inquiry—one that values curiosity, reflection and process as much as finished outcomes.

Artists are invited to use the residency in ways that are meaningful to their practice. Some may spend two months making. Others may spend two months unmaking, researching, listening, collaborating or asking better questions. All approaches are welcome.

If you're looking for a residency that prioritises artistic growth over production, and process over perfection, we invite you to apply.
